This is the 6th TRT India Tour and the people are starting to see us as part of the furniture at this time of year, and its great to catch up with so many familiar faces. New for 2011 is a group of 5 girls from the UK working with 5 Indians on a Netball programme.

As many of you know already, a TRT Tour is no holiday … 4-5 hours coaching every day, hot conditions and kids that seem to have an endless supply of energy ! 2011 saw the addition of two new schools in the main phase of the Tour, Khandigiri and VEMS … both of whom ended up in the Bowl final which is great !

Friday saw the culmination of all the hard work from the Tour Party with the 11 schools participating in a Tag Rugby Festival hosted by our long standing friends at KISS. As usual, the grounds were superbly prepared by the Young Leaders at KISS and as and when lessons permitted, most of the children rushed out to the field to watch the action. For the final there were several thousand children crammed around the pitch to watch Catherine Spencer (Spence) ref a fixture that has been the final on a number of occasions over the years – KISS v Padashai.

More news next week…
