NAIROBI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL TEACHERS TRAINING
on Jan 14 in Events, Kenya, News tagged by Martin TRTAfter long waiting for school to settle we opened this year’s activity with a teachers coaching clinic at Nairobi Warldorf Academy.
Ten teachers assembly by 9:30 and were ready to hear about tag rugby and the force behind it.
Teacher David Weru who was our host did a brief hospitality welcome and we took over to run the session. Seven schools were represented with at least two teachers from each school. The schools were:
Warldorf Academy-David Weru
Agakhan Academy senior school -Liam Clifford
Agakhan Junior Academy -Patrick Muya
Nairobi Academy-Jared Opiyo
Oshwal Academy-Martin Kanyange and Habil Okelo
Potterhouse school-Stanley kaberu and Gilbert Makokha
Rusinga school-Leonard Atto and Caleb Ojwang
We started with an introduction on understanding the game and we took them through and lead our normal TRT method of coaching rugby from British Bull dogs to tag rugby principal.
We had a game and each coach had a session on how to coach and Ref.
They had on how to plan a session and knowledge in technical part (rules for playing tag rugby trust style).
We ended with a good lunch with school culture of every one wash his or her plate after using it. Children were joys and even one point wanted to join our session. They will have their chance soon we told them.
We agree to organized small friendly among our self and next term we kick off full as it will be rugby term. This term is officially Cricket, football and Hockey.
We agree and all are happy with us visiting them to help them any time and also a Teacher Refresher course.
The Teachers were all keen to get the equipment.
Thanks to all and TRT Kenya team for work and The Teachers who attended.
