Continuing their link with the Tag Rugby Trust, the team from Mill Hill School heading to Tamil Nadu in India to work with teachers and students at Sri Jayendra School honed their Tag Rugby skills in preparation for their trip.

TRT Trustee Trevor Martingell, University Placement TRT Volunteer & former Mill Hillian Kodzo Williams and visiting Kenyan TRT Volunteer Linda Anyango gave the students a crash course in playing and coaching Tag Rugby. The team will take enough kit to leave with the schools, run a teacher training session and finish off with a festival of Tag Rugby.

TRT has been working in India since 2006 in Orissa, so the opportunity to work in Tamil Nadu will be great. Long term Indian TRT volunteers from Orissa, Rajeev Nath and Manas Kumar, will be travelling down to help the group.

Mill Hill school have developed a strong link with Sri Jayendra School stretching over the past 10 years and focusing on teaching English, supporting students and facilitating teacher exchanges. TRT are really excited about helping them add something new to what looks like a fantastic relationship and spreading their work into four other schools in the area.

Adam Morton, Graeme Turner and Paul Bickerdike have been central in making this possible – we look forward to hearing the stories.
