Impis Tag Rugby Top players Rewarded

The youngsters from the Makerere Impis Junior tag rugby academy could not believe their eyes after their effort in the Saturday mini tournament earned them goodies to take back home.

Competitive games among four teams Squirrels, Cheetahs, Antelopes and Impis flavour saw the latter emerge winners but top over all performers benefitted from the balance of the Barclays Bank freebies.

The Academy that began tag rugby training in January 2010 has 98 kids with 18 players under the age of 3 years. The Impis Rugby team Chairman Wareh Samson who was also the tournament referee thanked the Tag Rugby Trust for the effort put in nurturing future players at all rugby clubs all over the country.

Shouting out the senior Impis Rugby slogan the kids replied to like their own, Wareh said, “As a club we are impressed with the high level of play and excellent talent you have, together with your coach Dot, we are organising a party for you soon that will be accompanied by competitive games to celebrate 1 year of Impis Tag Rugby and l promise most of you will have your Impis idols join you on Saturdays training”Wareh charged.
