Gulu Tag Rugby Teacher Training

Gulu District Tag Rugby Primary schools utilised the 2011 Teachers Tag Rugby workshop to name a committee that will spearhead and enhance the growth of tag rugby in the District. With this year’s second edition of Gulu District Annual Tag Rugby Festival around the corner, all participating schools are seeking to strip defending champions Laroo Boarding primary school.
The Teacher’s workshop having registered good attendance of eight new schools off the 10 invited recorded two representatives from each of the schools. After an enthusiastic session the teachers high lighted the quick need of a committee that would act fast to have the game of Tag Rugby grow in Gulu Town an event that saw Mr. Sam Moro Ojan of Gulu town Primary school slotted in as first ever head of Gulu Tag Rugby Teacher’s Association assisted by Aryemo Anna of Laroo Boarding Primary school as vice chairperson.
Others include Jimmy Komakech as secretary,Fiona Rosette Bako for Treasurer, Ochan Patrick Publicity/media mobilisation and committe members Okwang Mario, Lakony Ronney, Lawino Joyce,Komakech Louis and Piloya Lucy Catherine. Work kicked off right away as jubilant chairman Ojan thanked the TRT facilitators Abel and Dorothy,District super volunteer Nicholas Ojara and urged the teachers to collectively work together for fruitful results.”With this kit in our hands,the sky is the limit if we draw up our goals and focus on achieving them.
Our priority goal this year is to have Tag Rugby on the schools sports calender which will get all Gulu schools competing for our annual big festival every year” the newly appointed Chairman explained. The Gulu annual Tag Rugby festival takes shape in September.
