Deaf Young Leaders training leaves Parents speechless

The first ever Deaf Young leaders training Kampala on the 30th October 2011 left parents surprised after seeing the hidden talent their little ones exhibited in the practical session taking on Parents and teachers combined.
In attendance were 21 youngleaders all senior kids from the Uganda School for the deaf alongside eager parents who rushed for the exciting practicals. The one day training at the school premises was to enable the grown up players now youngleaders take on leadership roles and also coach fellow pupils and secondary students for those leaving primary school this year.
2010 Kampala tournament most valuable player Richard Gihame took center stage in the interactive and practical sessions with the guidance of teacher Ivan and TRT coaches. 
As more hands of experience ushered in Tag Rugby piooneer player and coach Annet Nadunga could not hide her joy of seeing parents interact with kids and immitate their way of playing as she put in some speed on the parents team to win herself the a new name ‘Inzikuru’. (Uganda’s fastest Gold medal female athlete).
With some of the young leaders set to join Wakiso secondary school for the Deaf in Wakiso District, Tag Rugby will next year mentor players to compete for numbers at the secondary school national level. Most exciting was when the parents who had come to watch their kids officiate and play jumped onto the pitch to be apart of their kids joyful attainment of skills as they did immitate their kids runs and passes. Many of them promised to fix time every Sunday to join training sessions that have tremendously changed their kids sports abilities.
Meanwhile, word is spreading… Mulago school for the Deaf will join the Tag Rugby wagon 2012 after seeing the progress Ntinda school has registered in two years of Tag Rugby.
