Baobab College support Lusaka Taggers

on Oct 04 in Events, News, Zambia tagged by

Having been involved in coaching Tag Rugby with TRT as well as hosting many UK touring schools in Lusaka since 2008, Baobab College students and Jon Turner took the lead and got stuck into tagging the local schools in support of the community.

Over the last few weeks, Jon and his students were out and about refereeing and organising friendly fixtures between Chilanga Basic, Musamba Basic and Guardian Angels.

The tournament they organised was a follow up to the coaching they did in the same schools last week. Results are as below and I’m sure some of the UK students will recognise a few faces as they were the grade 5 students that took part in the program this year.

The standard was good and excitement reigned between the schools as ever.

Jon admitted “I really got that proud feeling seeing my own student group running the show, supporting the community and building their own leadership skills.”

Perhaps we should have warned you Jon – it’s very addictive, there is no way back now!

Our thanks go to Jon and the students for a job well done!
